Within our Retail locations, we bring this promise to life with heart every day, and our Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise.
Responsibilities- Live the purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each pharmacy workstation (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, creating heartfelt moments while serving patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru, and over the phone; offering immunizations and other services; and demonstrating compassionate care by solving or escalating patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as accurately putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and waiting bin inventories, as permitted by law.
- Contribute to a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and be receptive to feedback; actively seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge needed to better assist patients.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; voluntarily travel to stores in the market to work shifts as needed by the business.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; comply with CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety, controlled substance dispensing, record‑keeping, and privacy protection.
- Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, voluntarily staffing off‑site clinics) where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification.
- Complete additional licensure and training requirements, in compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer to the pharmacist‑on‑duty for vaccination questions.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions; report adverse reaction events per public‑health requirements.
- Review and collect patient information; track and document for each applicable patient.
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
- Must comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to age, education, and licensure/certification.

- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
- Customer service and team orientation: help people, respond to patient reactions, and interact friendlily.
- Communication skills: verbal and written communication, active listening, and appropriate interaction.
- Mathematical reasoning: calculate doses, day’s supply, and bottle quantities.
