Performs specialized technical duties in a surgical or procedural setting under supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician. Assists the surgical team by preparing and maintaining equipment and instrumentation to ensure a safe and efficient operating room environment.
Qualifications- Education:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech program
- Experience:
Preferred one year as a Surgical Tech - Certification/Licensure:
- Must hold one of the following:
- Surgical Technician Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
- Surgical Technician Certification by the National Center for Competency Testing
- Military or Public Health Service Surgical Technology Program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within ninety days of hire
