Customer Service Rep, Guest Services
Front Desk Agents are responsible for greeting and registering guests, providing outstanding guest service during their stay, and settling the guest's account upon completion of their stay. Primary responsibilities include registering guests, making and modifying reservations, and performing hotel operator and concierge duties. They must provide attentive, courteous, and efficient service to all guests prior to arrival and throughout their stay, while maximizing room revenue and occupancy.
ResponsibilitiesQUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in a related field is helpful.
- Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
- Possess a positive and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and problem-solve effectively.
- Clear communication skills.
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Work well under stress and high-pressure situations.
- Effective in handling workplace problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving issues.
- Active listening skills to understand and clarify issues raised by coworkers and guests.
- Ability to understand financial information, data, and perform basic arithmetic functions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
- Willingness and ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Understanding of hotel products and guest services.
- Ability to contribute to an enjoyable work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Approach all guest and associate encounters in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including proper uniform and name tag.
- Maintain regular attendance according to hotel standards.
- Comply with all hotel policies, standards, and regulations for safe and efficient operations.
- Greet and welcome guests at the Front Desk warmly and professionally.
- Operate the telephone switchboard effectively.
- Handle requests for information, mail, and messages courteously and efficiently.
- Answer inquiries about hotel services, facilities, and local attractions.
- Coordinate with other departments and team members effectively.
- Be familiar with rates, packages, promotions, and in-house groups.
- Accurately take and record room reservations, following rate policies.
- Understand and assist with emergency procedures.
- Manage check-ins and check-outs efficiently and courteously.
- Operate all relevant front desk systems competently.
- Handle packages, mail, and messages delivery and logging.
- Use radio communication etiquette appropriately.
- Assist with delivering guest items as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel amenities, local events, and attractions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned, including maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the hotel.
