Job Description
- The desktop tech position is an excellent opportunity to gain tier 1, 2 and 3 desktop support experience;
- Work with customers to resolve software and hardware related issues through phone, email, and/or remote or in-person assistance.
- Work with supervisors and vendors to find short-term and long-term resolutions for issues such as:
- Removing viruses
- Installing hardware and software
- Imaging computers
- Install and troubleshoot classroom technology such as projectors, cameras, speakers, and document cameras.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Standard operating hours for this position are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Technicians are required to fit their schedule within standard operating hours, but may occasionally be asked to work events beyond these standard hours.
- Must be a currently enrolled student, registered for classes, and in good academic standing.
- Must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and basic troubleshooting ability;
- Ability to work individually and also with team members;
- Must effectively communicate one on one with end users;
- Ability to efficiently manage your time in a fast-paced work environment
- Experience with the following is preferred but not required:
- Windows OS
- Mac OS
- Audio/Video equipment
- Access controls
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Computer programming
- Mobile devices
- Active Directory Services
- Transport computers and other equipment across campus
- Climb ladders to work on elevated or mounted equipment
