The Maintenance Worker position performs preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision.

• Assists in the installation of new equipment.
• Assists the Maintenance Supervisor and/or other personnel on special fabrication and construction projects.
• Follows preventative maintenance schedule.
• Trains Level 1 and 2 Maintenance personnel.
• Troubleshoots and repairs process machinery and hydraulic equipment.
• Changes electrical breakers and electrical starters; operates voltage, amp, and ohm meters.
• Maintains clean, neat and orderly work area at all times.
• Responsible for using assigned safety equipment and observing all Company safety rules and regulations.
• Attends regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be asked to serve on Safety Committee.
• All other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6 years' experience with rendering or other similar equipment.
• Advanced welding, piping and fabrication skills required.

• Vocational school training preferred.
• Basic knowledge of general maintenance and equipment operations.
• General mechanical aptitude; able to diagnose problems with motors and other equipment.
• Good math skills.
• Must pass skills test on 480V combination starter/breaker box and control voltage for combination box.
• Demonstrated advanced welding skills.

Work involves exposure to high noise levels, strong odors, heat and cold, biohazard conditions, chemicals, electrical hazards, and handling dangerous equipment. Tasks include lifting up to 50 pounds and operating tools while following strict safety protocols.
