This position is under a Collective Bargaining Agreement in a union environment and the hourly rate is $27.65/hr
Job SummaryMechanics are expected to work on all equipment, such as hydraulic components, electric motors, printers, etc. In addition to all mechanical tasks, Mechanics are responsible for recording and maintenance of all critical data and documentation. This position focuses on continuous improvement and maximum efficiency from the machinery, ensuring maximum machine utilization, and minimum departmental non-production time.
Job Responsibilities- Under general supervision and in accordance to prescribed procedures and requirements performs complete maintenance support including installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, adjustments, repair, preventive and emergency maintenance as well as continuous improvement.
- Work on all equipment, such as hydraulic components, electric motors, printers, etc. Maintain and record all critical data and documentation. Focus on continuous improvement and maximum efficiency from the machinery to ensure maximum machine utilization and minimum non-production time.
- After a suitable training period, develop an understanding of processes and working knowledge of related equipment including process facilities, air handlers, pumps, compressors, etc. Coordinate, instruct, advise, and train others as needed.
- Associates are accountable for production efficiencies, strict compliance with process specifications, and Company standards of behavior.
- Follow current compliance regulations and standards and work within engineering safety guidelines. Review modifications that impact personal or process safety with the Safety Audit Team prior to implementation.
- Independently recognize and solve problems with the ability to make critical decisions under pressure on breakdowns and manage deadlines in completing breakdown, maintenance and project activities.
- Demonstrate the ability to work with and communicate effectively with others; coordinate, instruct, advise, and train other craft personnel as needed.
- Maintain general housekeeping within the department, keep equipment and work area clean and orderly, and maintain inventory of spare parts with supervision notified when parts are needed.
- Comply with all applicable quality management system, environmental, safety and occupational health policies (for example, ISO 13485, ISO
14001 & OSHAS
18001).
- Must read, interpret and follow work instructions and training materials.
- Pass and maintain training and certification examinations as required.
- Read diagrams, sketches, blueprints, and manufacturing specifications related to assigned equipment.
- Use process controller programmer systems to maintain programs and diagnose equipment failures using analysis of relay-ladder-logic programs and other process control language software.
- Diagnose and identify equipment failures across mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, or facilities.
- Maintain area support equipment as needed (e.g., ergo lifts/tables, chairs, ladders).
- Operate portable power tools and hand tools to troubleshoot and repair production equipment.
- Accurate record keeping via computer management systems and/or manual systems; ensure maintenance work and spare parts are captured in CMMS.
- Interpret computer-based diagnostic data for predictive maintenance and other applications.
- Lead a continuous improvement program on specified equipment and participate in equipment improvements, PM process improvements, and OEE tracking/trending.
- Work with EPS/ME2/LEAN teams to achieve goals and follow safety guidelines.
- Maintain safety and compliance in classified hazardous areas; ensure modifications are reviewed before implementation.
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook; ability to operate Excel for data entry and interpretation.
