Labor & Delivery RN Job Details

• Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM); 3x12 or 4x12 per week
• Weekly
  
  Hours:
  
  36–48 hours, depending on shift schedule
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2040–$2100
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/8/2025 – End: 12/8/2025)
• Setting:
  Community hospital, 15-bed Labor & Delivery unit

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or compact state preferred)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (3 years preferred)
• Travel nursing or locum tenens experience highly preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification within 6 months of hire
• Breastfeeding Education completed within 90 days of hire
• Fetal Monitoring certification required
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) system
• Ability to float to similar clinical units as needed
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a fast-paced L&D unit
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, and postpartum care
• Administer medications, monitor fetal heart rates, and perform patient assessments
• Provide breastfeeding and lactation education to new mothers
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physicians, respiratory therapists, and social workers
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR system
• Float to similar nursing units as required to support patient care needs
• Adhere to hospital protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards
