Summary/Objective

Reporting to and partnering with the Controller, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle corporate accounting and assisting with the preparation and review of monthly and annual financial statements. The Senior Accountant also serves as a key resource in driving process improvements, enhancing reporting accuracy, and supporting broader strategic initiatives across the accounting function.

Essential Functions
  • Performs full-cycle accounting functions including maintaining financial records and general ledger accounts across multiple entities
  • Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger
  • Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of schedules and month-end balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Responsible for preparation of the consolidated cash flow statement
  • Responsible for recording bank account activity in the general ledger for multiple bank accounts
  • Responsible for all aspects of fixed asset accounting across multiple entities, including maintaining fixed asset subledgers, depreciating assets, and generating depreciation schedules
  • Record payroll and benefits transactions and ensure timely reconciliation to vendor-provided reports
  • Ownership over accounting and reporting for operating properties managed by third parties, including tenant communications and AR monitoring
  • Responsible for basic property management accounting functions across multiple undeveloped properties
  • Responsible for preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
  • Assists in preparation of monthly financial reporting packages
  • Supports the annual tax and GAAP audit processes, including fulfilling PBC requests, responding to auditor questions, and assisting with financial statement disclosure tie-outs
  • Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting operations
  • Contributes to the design and improvement of accounting policies, procedures, controls and technical memos to ensure compliance, enhance financial accuracy and strengthen internal controls
  • Prepares ad‑hoc financial analysis, as requested
  • Supports system integration activities, as needed

Required

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA license (preferred but not required)
  • 3‑5 years accounting experience, preferably in real estate development, commercial construction, property management, or closely related field
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Proficient with fixed asset accounting
  • Proficient with general ledger functions, monthly/yearly close, financial reporting, and consolidated statement preparation
  • Experience with Yardi (preferred but not required)
