On the lower east side of San Antonio we are supporting an excellent client with a high-impact Senior Accountant opening. This role reports into a decorated Controller with exposure to the C-Suite and other company Execs.

• Collaborate closely with senior finance leadership to oversee core accounting functions such as general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, fixed asset tracking, and payroll administration.
• Contribute to the preparation and review of periodic financial deliverables, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with organizational deadlines.
• Support the month-end close process by maintaining high standards of financial accuracy and helping drive timely reporting cycles.
• Promote sound financial governance through the implementation and reinforcement of internal controls and standardized accounting protocols.
• Play an active role in audit readiness efforts, including gathering documentation and liaising with external audit teams.
• Assist with the development of financial insights by preparing variance reports and identifying trends or discrepancies.
• Oversee or review critical accounting activities such as reconciliations, journal postings, and reporting schedules.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on compliance matters, including tax-related requirements and filings.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, including refining ERP functionality and enhancing automation across accounting workflows.
• Provide mentorship and support to junior team members, contributing to their professional development and the overall strength of the accounting function.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with ideally some supervisory experience.
• CPA or CPA tracking candidates are strongly preferred.
