Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Project Accountant to support project-level accounting and financial reporting in a fast‑paced, project-driven environment. This role is central to maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end close, and providing meaningful financial insights across active development initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles
• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, month‑end close, and financial statement preparation
• Proven ability to perform budget‑to‑actual analysis and explain financial variances

• Experience in project-based, construction, or development accounting environments
• Exposure to cost tracking, project budgeting, or funding/draw processes
• Experience working with accounting or project management software
• Familiarity with audit support or compliance-driven reporting

• Own Project Accounting:
  Manage day‑to‑day accounting for assigned projects, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy.
• Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  Prepare and review monthly financial statements and project reports, identifying variances, trends, and items requiring follow‑up.
• Budget‑to‑Actual Analysis:
  Track project costs against budgets, investigate discrepancies, and clearly explain changes in financial results.
• Month‑End Close Support:
  Prepare accruals, understand timing differences, and ensure project activity is properly reflected in financial statements.
• Cost & Expenditure Tracking:
  Monitor project spend, identify inconsistencies, and support accurate cost allocation.
• Funding & Compliance Support:
  Assist with project funding oversight, including preparation of draw requests and compliance with loan or funding requirements.
• Documentation & Audit Support:
  Maintain organized financial records and assist with audits by preparing schedules and explanations.
