Location:
San Antonio, TX | Salary: $40,000 - $50,000.
GI Alliance is seeking an experienced Front Desk Coordinator I to support the office manager and providers. The role involves a broad range of clerical duties, patient coordination, data entry, and financial processes to maintain a smooth front office operation.
Responsibilities- Answer and screen high‑volume telephone calls in a courteous manner, recording messages for providers and other personnel.
- Schedule patient appointments and procedures according to established policies and procedures.
- Check‑in patients upon arrival and check‑out upon departure.
- Obtain accurate information from patients and ensure all registration forms are complete.
- Collect patient and insurance payments and reconcile charges daily.
- Verify account balances and refunds for accuracy and provide information to patients regarding unpaid balances.
- File records in appropriate sections of patient charts in the EMR.
- Prepare patient charts in advance and scan documents into charts in the EMR.
- Transcribe letters and create forms as needed.
- Maintain files and records in a confidential manner.
- Maintain organization and efficiency of the front office, including office supply inventory.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Perform other related duties as directed or assigned.
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in a medical office, front office, or scheduling (preferred).
- Level I Requirements: Entry level (1–4 years experience) or above with minimal supervision, or more than 4 years experience with basic supervision.
- Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of computer programs and applications.
- Basic arithmetic skills for accurate calculations and reconciliations.
- Skill in operating office equipment.
- Skill in handling paperwork/filing.
- Skill in handling incoming phone calls and triaging appropriately.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to learn other computer programs including Microsoft Excel, e‑mail, Internet, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetical or numeric systems.
- Flexibility to respond to changing demands.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
