The Sr. Business Analyst is responsible for driving data-informed decisions, identifying opportunities for improvement, and translating complex operational needs into actionable technical requirements. This position plays a key role in delivering insights that improve financial performance, enable accurate forecasting, streamline revenue operations, and optimize the end-to-end Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in trend analysis, Net Revenue Per Visit (NRPV) modeling, payer mix evaluation, financial forecasting, process improvement with proven experience in stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration. This role also requires advanced SQL skills, fluency in working with EMR data, and the ability to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including executive leadership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders across clinical, billing, and operational teams to understand revenue drivers, business needs, challenges, and goals.
  • Conduct in-depth trend and variance analysis across the revenue cycle, identifying revenue leakage, payer underperformance, or coding opportunities. and recommending data-driven strategic actions.
  • Perform and maintain Net Revenue Per Visit (NRPV) calculations and modeling to monitor payer performance and support financial benchmarking decision-making.
  • Analyze existing business processes and workflows, identify inefficiencies, and propose practical, measurable solutions.
  • Lead the development of financial forecasting tools, incorporating historical trends, seasonal patterns, payer behavior, and utilization rates to project expected revenue and identify deviations.
  • Translate complex business needs into functional and technical specifications for analytics, automation, or system enhancements.
  • Extract, interpret and leverage data from EMR and billing systems to support advanced analytics and forecasting, to uncover operational gaps and financial opportunities.
  • Develop, build, and maintain robust dashboards, KPI-driven interactive reports, and ad-hoc analyses using SQL, Excel, and tools such as Power BI and Databricks to monitor financial performance and operational efficiency in real time.
  • Support project management in planning, tracking, and delivering key initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Evaluate payer contract performance, reimbursements, and denial trends; support negotiation strategies through data insights.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, identifying operational bottlenecks and recommending actionable, scalable solutions.
  • Provide change management support by facilitating stakeholder alignment, process documentation, training, and adoption tracking.
  • Collaborate with finance and executive leadership to inform budget development, revenue projections, and scenario planning.
  • Support risk analysis efforts, especially related to shifts in patient volume, payer policy, or regulatory updates that may impact forecast accuracy.
  • Ensure that all analytical solutions and recommendations are aligned with organizational goals and result in measurable value creation.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts and contribute to building a high-performing analytical culture.

Qualifications Education
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, accounting, finance or related field required.
  • 5 years of healthcare experience is commensurate to the education required.
Experience

2-3 years of related work experience.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business analysis, business administration, finance or related field.
  • Excel, Tableau, and SQL Proficiency.
