Youth Care Professional – Bilingual (Spanish & English)3rd Shift (10pm-6am)
Academic Requirement:
Required – High school diploma, or equivalent;
Preferred – 2-year Associate degree from an accredited program/institution, or two or more years of college-level coursework in a related human services, Psychology, or behavioral health.
Work Experience:Required – One (1) year of related experience and/or training in human services, specifically behavioral health or residential treatment;
Preferred – Two (2) or more years of related experience and/or training.
Certifications:First aid, CPR, Emergency behavior intervention.
Critical Action Items & Measurable Deliverables:
Meet all federal and state regulatory guidelines applicable to this position.Document all serious incidents, daily progress, and activities accurately and timely, in compliance with agency policies.Implement crisis intervention and treatment programs tailored to individual needs.Assist with orientation of new children and staff.Contribute to development of treatment plans as requested.Use positive child management techniques including verbal redirection, de-escalation, and containment.Plan, organize, and supervise activities for children according to the daily schedule.Teach social skills, problem-solving, personal hygiene, and life skills.Assist children with homework.Maintain cleanliness and order in children’s living areas, oversee chores, and report maintenance needs.Keep records of children’s clothing and personal items.Ensure campus security by patrolling and using radio communication properly.Encourage positive interactions and responsibility among children.Model culturally and socially appropriate behaviors.Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.Follow safety protocols, including evacuations.Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct as outlined in the employee handbook.Other Responsibilities:Provide direct supervision throughout the shift.Follow medical/clinical instructions and report health concerns.Communicate positively with children, families, and staff.Traverse the facility to supervise children indoors and outdoors.Enforce behavioral expectations and program regulations.Complete required documentation before shift end.Meet deadlines set by supervisors and partners.Communicate effectively in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.Requirements:
Pass pre-employment and ongoing drug screens.Provide proof of work eligibility upon request.Pass background checks.Demonstrate the ability to respond sensitively to cultural and socio-economic differences, work collaboratively, communicate effectively, provide crisis intervention, maintain emotional control, and utilize computer skills.Understand and follow all organizational policies and procedures.All employees must receive an annual Influenza vaccination or obtain an approved exemption as a medical or religious accommodation, as per CDC recommendations. Proof of vaccination is required.
