Mission: Seton Home works to break the cycle of abuse and poverty by providing a caring home, education, and support services necessary to transform the lives of pregnant and parenting teen mothers and their children.

Summary: The Team Lead supports the Shelter Supervisor, manages Casa de Milagros Program staff and resources, and implements trauma‑informed behavioral limits within a safe, caring environment. The role involves daily supervision, training, transition meetings, and direct care of residents and their children.

Minimum of 1‑year cumulative experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents in a social service setting.

Position Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and daily supervision of staff
  • Offer verbal and written feedback on job performance and deliver corrective action when necessary; communicate performance with Supervisor, Assistant Program Director, and Program Director
  • Review schedules and assignments with staff and residents at least 24 hours in advance of activities
  • Ensure completion of daily behavioral logs by assigned staff
  • Conduct daily transition meetings
  • First point of contact for concerns arising on shift
  • Assist with shadowing new hires and foster a positive team environment
  • Communicate program expectations and goals to staff
  • Supervise and assist residents with schoolwork while they attend school or classroom sessions
  • Cook and serve lunch to residents and their children on weekends, holidays, and as needed
  • End‑of‑shift duties: clean staff restroom, take out all trash, conduct final walk‑through of cottage to ensure cleanliness
Afternoon/Evening Routine
  • Supervise and log all domestic and international calls for residents
  • Provide care for children while residents attend groups or as needed
  • Monitor resident interactions to ensure a safe environment
  • Plan, supervise, and participate in recreational and/or physical activities
  • Document daily logs and incident reports using the internal database; process medications from pharmacy and dispense as required
  • Assist with transporting residents to and from medical appointments, outings, etc.
  • Conduct evening chores (e.g., spray cleaning products, room checks)
  • Cook and supervise dinner preparation and cleanup during weekends, holidays, and as needed
  • Provide evening snacks on a daily basis
  • Complete shelter intake and discharge processes for new arrivals and residents as needed

Minimum Qualifications Education
  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 1‑year cumulative experience in child welfare with children and/or adolescents in a social service setting
  • Preferred 2 years of experience
License and Credentials
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and vehicle insurance
  • Immunization/shot records and TB screening required; background check, child‑abuse registry check, and tuberculosis screening mandatory
  • Physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing essential duties
  • Proof of immunity to vaccine‑preventable diseases (varicella, MMR, DTaP/DTaP, influenza) for work with unaccompanied children
Minimum Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of TDFPS Minimum Standards and Office of Refugee Resettlement standards
  • Basic computer skills with familiarity in Kaleida Care and MS Office
  • Trauma‑informed care practices
  • Excellent communication and understanding of human behavior and development
  • Successful completion and implementation of SAMA
  • Sensitivity to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of service populations
  • Ability to build respectful relationships with clients and collaborate with staff and professionals
  • Independent and team‑oriented work style
  • Fluent bilingual (English/Spanish) in reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension
  • Must pass a criminal background check
Travel Requirements

10% local travel and 10% overnight travel.
