Construction Analyst – Murray Resources - Best Staffing Agency
A leading architectural firm is seeking a Construction Analyst to support project oversight through site observations, reporting, and construction analysis. The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented professional with a strong understanding of construction practices and the ability to work independently in the field. Reporting to the Project Manager, the new hire will help ensure project quality and compliance by conducting site visits, preparing reports, and reviewing progress documentation while coordinating with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to keep projects on track.

Type of Position: Direct Hire Responsibilities
- Site Observations
- Attend Preconstruction conference, site observation meetings, Punch Lists and warranty Post Construction observation meetings (as applicable) to confirm general substantial compliance with Plans and Specs.
- Identify and report any construction practices not in substantial compliance with Plans and Specifications, accessibility and general quality construction practices.
- Consult with State Housing agency, GC Project Supervisors and Owner reps.
- Complete standard Field report with photos and detailed descriptions of work observed in accordance with the Field Report SOP.
- Review and execute Pay Applications for general conformance with actual progress and coordinating with Assist Team and Accounting as required.
- Perform plan review for general understanding of project objectives and familiarity with each project to be visited.
- Coordinate with PM/PC for RFI’s that come up during site observation visits.
- Maintain and organize electronic files including Plans, Specs, pay requests and monthly reports.
- Physical Condition / Capital Needs Assessments
- Perform Site visits to gather information about existing project conditions in accordance with the PNA/CNA SOP.
- Use prior experience and Fannie Mae EUL (estimated useful life) tables to determine the EUL of all Building systems.
- Determine cost of project repairs and replacements over the term of the loan.
- Provide written reports following Fannie Mae Physical Needs Assessment guidelines, Rural Development Capital Needs Assessment guidelines or other guidelines provided by state agencies providing funding for multifamily rehabilitation projects in accordance with the PNA/CNA SOP.
- Administrative
- Manage time effectively and supporting others—including employees, supervisors, clients, customers, and owners—in doing the same.
- Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Complete personal timesheet entries on a daily/weekly basis in a timely manner.
- Attend weekly Project Status Report Meetings to review production schedules/goals.
- Attend quarterly PM/PC meetings.
- Communicate status updates and needs and upload necessary information to relevant team members in accordance with time standards. (This position will be supported by administrative staff in assembling and distributing reports.)
- Accountable for minimizing unnecessary expenditures; tracking company credit card expenses with the Accounting Department; turning in coded receipts on a monthly basis.
- Ensure that your designated company vehicle(s) is maintained properly.
- Complete annual JPR reviews.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field and at least 3 years of experience in construction analysis or a similar role, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in construction management software and tools
- Understand technical instructions and correspondence—both written and oral
- Write intermediate‑level communications, and effectively present information to management, employees, or stakeholders
- Understand and use basic mathematical relationships and formulas
- Work independently (with little or no supervision), apply common sense to problem‑solving, and use diplomacy and tact when addressing issues
- Identify problems, determine effective solutions, and critically evaluate information for accuracy and relevance
- Handle situations involving multiple concrete variables
- Experience and understanding of Accessibility regulations that apply to multifamily developments, including UFAS (Section 504), Fair Housing, ANSI, ADA, IBC and IRC, at community spaces
- General good practices knowledge of low rise, stick framed construction
- Must have valid Operator’s Driver license and be insurable
- Must be able to travel overnight into multiple states by air and car, as required
