Senior Low Voltage Project Manager

Location:

San Antonio, TX 78249

Description:

We Need a TRUE Low Voltage Project Manager Someone Who Owns the Entire Project! TradeSTAR is recruiting an experienced Senior Low Voltage Project Manager for a client specializing in commercial low-voltage technology systems. We're looking for a proven professional who has successfully managed commercial low-voltage projects from contract award through final completion. Someone who understands the technology, knows how to manage people and budgets, and takes full ownership of project performance.

This is not a Lead Technician or Foreman position. We need someone with actual project management experience who knows how to control costs, manage schedules, coordinate manpower, protect profit margins, and deliver completed projects. If you've spent years successfully managing commercial low-voltage installations and are ready for a six-figure opportunity, we want to speak with you.

What You'll Be Responsible For
  • Manage commercial low-voltage installation projects from kickoff through final customer acceptance.
  • Oversee projects involving structured cabling, fiber optics, access control, CCTV, electronic security, fire alarm, and other integrated low-voltage systems.
  • Take ownership of project budgets, labor costs, material expenses, schedules, and profitability.
  • Develop project schedules, manpower projections, and installation timelines.
  • Coordinate field supervisors, lead technicians, installation crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Review contracts, scopes of work, construction drawings, specifications, and project deliverables.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation.
  • Track labor productivity, project progress, cost-to-complete forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Attend construction meetings and coordinate with general contractors, owners, engineers, and other trades.
  • Identify potential project delays, scheduling conflicts, material shortages, and cost overruns before they become major problems.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, punch lists, as-built documentation, and final project closeout.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships while delivering quality work on time and within budget.
What We're Looking For
  • 5 10+ years of actual Low Voltage Project Management experience is required.
  • A proven track record managing commercial low-voltage installation projects from beginning to end.
  • Strong technical knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optics, security systems, access control, CCTV, fire alarm, or related low-voltage technologies.
  • Direct responsibility for project financials, including budgets, labor forecasting, change orders, and profitability.
  • Experience managing multiple commercial projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction practices, installation methods, and project scheduling.
  • Experience coordinating manpower, subcontractors, material procurement, and equipment deliveries.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, construction specifications, contracts, and project documentation.
  • Proficiency with project management software, Microsoft Excel, and construction documentation tools.
  • Strong communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • The confidence to work directly with general contractors, customers, field leadership, and company executives.
  • Important:
Experience as a Lead Technician, Foreman, Superintendent, or Electrical Project Manager alone does not satisfy this requirement. Candidates must demonstrate direct responsibility for managing low-voltage projects, including their financial and operational performance.
