Position Summary:
The Production Technician is a vital part of the Worship & Creative team, responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of all technical systems that support live and recorded services and events at Westover Hills Church. This includes managing audio, video, lighting, and broadcast elements to create distraction-free environments that enhance worship and storytelling. The role requires technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to support the church’s mission through excellent production.

Westover Hills services and events are executed with a high level of technical excellence, resulting in consistent, distraction-free worship experiences for both in-person and online audiences. Production systems are proactively maintained and improved. Volunteers feel supported, confident, and capable in their roles, contributing to a strong and unified production culture. The Production Technician's leadership and reliability allow pastors, communicators, and worship leaders to minister effectively without technical barriers.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and oversee all aspects of audio, video, lighting, and broadcast systems during weekend services, midweek classes, and special events.
- Set up, strike, and support technical needs for weekday meetings, classes, and trainings.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in real time to ensure distraction-free services across all venues and platforms.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace in the sound booth, production suite, backstage areas, and tech storage spaces.
- Facilitate regular equipment maintenance, including monthly, quarterly, and annual cleaning and upkeep.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and developing a volunteer production team to serve with confidence, excellence, and spiritual unity.
- Provide hands-on training and real-time support for volunteers during live services and events.
- Foster a positive team environment that values development, communication, and care for each team member.
- Participate in production meetings, service run-throughs, and rehearsals to prepare and execute cues, transitions, and creative elements.
- Collaborate closely with worship leaders, communicators, and the creative team to deliver smooth, engaging, and spiritually impactful services.
- Support overflow spaces and multi-room venues as needed during high-capacity weekends and churchwide events.
- Partner cross-functionally with other departments to build a unified and collaborative ministry experience.
- Maintain organized, accurate records of AVL system configurations across all venues.
- Create and document standard operating procedures for production processes to ensure continuity and consistency.
- Track and maintain production gear and technical inventory, recommending repairs or upgrades as needed.
Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technology to hone personal production skills and enhance team capabilities continually.
Qualifications
Key Competencies:
- Demonstrated expertise in live production systems, including audio (FOH and broadcast), video, lighting, and live streaming.
- Proficient in using Dante for digital audio networking, including patching, routing, troubleshooting, and integration across multiple systems and spaces.
- Familiarity with platforms and tools such as Pro Presenter, Resi, digital mixing consoles (e.g., Behringer, Allen & Heath, Yamaha), camera systems, and lighting control (e.g., Grand
