Broadcast Video Journalist​/Photographer

Job Overview

WOAI/KABB seeks an experienced Photographer/ Broadcast Video Journalist to join our team. This role requires expertise in shooting and operating professional video cameras, with a strong understanding of lighting, composition, and visual storytelling. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment of daily local news coverage. Creative, competitive, and eager to win.

• Highly motivated with a proven track record in news production.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.
• Natural problem solver capable of meeting constant deadlines across multiple platforms.

• 1–2 years of experience shooting and editing video content.
• Proficiency in shooting and editing general assignment stories, working alongside reporters, conducting live shots, and assembling packages.
• Passion for storytelling and strong non‑linear editing skills (desktop and laptop systems).
• Excellent people skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Ability to produce compelling stories under tight deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; must be able to operate ENG news vehicles.
• Physical ability to regularly lift and carry 30 lbs. or more.
• Flexible availability for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Submission of a link to your online demo reel or portfolio showcasing recent work is required.

Full‑time position includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
