Archipro is conducting a confidential national search for an accomplished Director of Landscape Architecture & Design-Build to join an established and highly regarded firm specializing in custom pools, landscapes, and outdoor living environments in the Texas Hill Country.

This is an opportunity for an experienced landscape architect who wants more than a traditional design role. You’ll have a direct connection to the built work, guiding sophisticated residential projects from the earliest design concepts through construction and final completion.

The firm is looking for someone who brings strong design sensibility together with practical construction knowledge—someone who understands how site planning, grading, drainage, planting, hardscape, pools, and outdoor living elements come together to create a cohesive residential environment.

Just as importantly, this is a leadership and succession opportunity. The selected individual will work closely with ownership, learn the business and established processes, help guide the design team, and play an important role in the firm’s next chapter.

You will lead high-end residential landscape and outdoor living projects from concept through completion, including:

• Developing creative, site-responsive landscape and outdoor living concepts.
• Leading site planning, planting, grading, drainage, hardscape, pool, and outdoor living design.
• Preparing and overseeing design development and construction documentation.
• Presenting concepts and design solutions directly to clients.
• Managing multiple projects while maintaining design quality, schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
• Coordinating with project managers, construction teams, consultants, subcontractors, specialty trades, and permitting authorities.
• Reviewing projects in the field and resolving design and construction issues as they arise.
• Guiding material, hardscape, and planting selections to protect design integrity throughout construction.
• Collaborating closely with ownership as part of a planned leadership transition and knowledge-transfer process.
• Mentoring team members and helping strengthen the firm’s design capabilities, processes, and standards.

We’re interested in a landscape architect who combines design talent, technical depth, leadership ability, and an understanding of how exceptional projects actually get built.

The strongest candidates will bring:

• A degree in Landscape Architecture.
• Significant professional experience in landscape architecture, ideally involving high-end custom residential projects
  .
• A strong portfolio demonstrating sophisticated design and successfully completed built work.
• Experience carrying projects from initial concept through documentation and construction.
• Strong working knowledge of grading, drainage, planting, irrigation coordination, hardscape, construction documentation, and engineering drawings.
• Leadership and project-management experience with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong client presentation, communication, and relationship-management skills.
  
  Experience coordinating budgets, schedules, estimating, and construction handoffs.
• The ability to collaborate comfortably with contractors, specialty trades, consultants, and clients.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suite, or comparable design and presentation tools.
