The College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University – San Antonio seeks a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Kinesiology to begin in Fall 2026. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate level courses in Kinesiology, including but not limited to Exercise in Chronic Disease and Disability, Therapeutic Exercise, Biomechanics of musculoskeletal injury, and Exercise Training. The position is part of a growing Kinesiology program with approximately 450 majors and three concentrations:
Pre‑PT, Exercise Science, and Physical Education.
Responsibilities include teaching, scholarly activity, student mentorship, community service, and active participation on university committees. The candidate will collaborate with faculty to build a comprehensive Kinesiology program that supports multicultural populations.
RequiredEducation and Experience
- An earned doctorate in Kinesiology, Rehabilitation Sciences, Athletic Training, or Physical Therapy from an accredited institution. ABD’s will be considered if the applicant can demonstrate that the degree will be completed by the time of appointment. ABD finalists must submit a letter from the doctoral advisor verifying that all requirements have been met and the projected date of graduation.
- Evidence of scholarly achievement in Kinesiology.
Education and Experience
- Evidence of excellence in university teaching experience commensurate with the rank of Assistant Professor.
- Excellent skills in interaction and communication with undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff.
