ES TX Scoring Assistant - Languages Other Than English - Latin

We have immediate openings for current or retired teachers to score Latin language certifications.

Scoring offers the opportunity to network with other professionals and stay abreast of the latest developments in your field. Scorers have a direct impact on the quality of the next generation of teachers and help to maintain professional standards. Scorers enjoy the change of pace, the mental challenge, and the opportunity to give back to their educational field.

• Scoring the Texas Educator Certification Examinations provides educators with a unique opportunity to network with peers, support their profession, and stay up to date with current practices and content.
• Scorers learn a process for evaluating responses to performance assignments, effectively and fairly.
• Scorers receive a thorough orientation to the methodology of how to score responses and gain valuable assessment skills.
• All scoring is done during the day remotely via Teams. Scoring sessions are conducted 4 times a year for one day and scorers are scheduled based on their availability.
• Compensation is hourly at $17.50 per hour.

• Evaluate teacher certification candidate responses to constructed-response items in a reliable manner and score according to supplied scoring guide.
• Internalize training and participate in discussions.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program.
• May be required to pass a qualifying test before scoring.

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a Texas school.
• Teaching the specific content field being scored within the past 3 years in a Texas school.
• Valid and current Texas certification required.
• Must reside in the state of Texas.
• Basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse).
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to maintain a confidential work environment.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
