Part Time Faculty of Communication - Video Production
Trinity University is seeking a Part‑time Faculty member for the Spring 2026 semester to teach COMM 3446‑1 - Video Communication (Narrative Video Production). The course is a workshop on the theory and practice of video production. Students write, photograph and edit short video projects, while considering the relationship between audiovisual style and meaning.
Responsibilities- Develop the course syllabus and ensure it meets departmental and university standards.
- Design and deliver lectures, discussions, in‑class activities and assignments.
- Grade assigned papers, quizzes, and exams.
- Assign grades in compliance with university deadlines.
- Maintain office hours as directed by the department chair or program director.
- Make student accommodations as determined by the Office of Student Accessibility Services.
- Adhere to all instructional policies as published in the Faculty Handbook and the Course of Study Bulletin.
Education
- B.A. degree in Film Studies or a related discipline and professional experience in video production.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Mastery of the relevant subject matter.
- Ability to deliver engaging lectures, discussions, or in‑class activities.
- Ability to design rigorous and meaningful assignments.
- Commitment to the liberal arts mission of Trinity University.
