Mission/Position Description Summary

The mission of a CoMET Field Technician in HVJ Construction Material Department, a leading specialty engineering firm in Texas, is to support the project manager and staff to ensure client satisfaction following standards, specifications, and company guidelines. HVJ also offers additional training for certifications.

Responsibilities Include

• Perform testing and inspections with minimal supervision.
• Document work performed accurately.
• Support the Project Manager as directed.
• Deliver project outcomes as scheduled with clients.
• Perform duties safely, efficiently, and professionally.
• Acquire additional skills/certifications as needed.

Key Criteria/Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift concrete, soil, or asphalt samples up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round.
• Willingness to travel, work shifts, and stay overnight if required.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with a clean record.
• 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
• ACI or Nuclear Gauge certification preferred.
• Ability to obtain related certifications as needed.

Additional Certifications Accepted: NICET, SB101, SB102, PTI Level 1 & 2.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and computer use.
• Ability to lift/move samples up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, walk, drive, handle objects, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Visual acuity including close, distance, color, and depth perception.
