A client of Innova Solutions seeks an experienced Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer to perform E3 environment testing and analysis across EMI, Lightning, HIRF, precipitation static, EMP, and other E3 environments. The role involves trade studies, modeling, simulation, and coordination with manufacturing and suppliers to achieve EMC compliance for electronics, wiring, and structure.
Primary Responsibilities- Perform complicated trade studies, modeling, simulation and other analysis to predict component, interconnect, and system performance and optimize design for E3 performance.
- Achieve Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) of electronics, wiring and structure under minimal direction.
- Interface with manufacturing to coordinate complex E3 aspects of designs and with suppliers to ensure system-level compatibility.
- Report achievements and issues to program management and customers.
- Support project management by coordinating development of work statements, budgets, schedules and conducting reviews.
- Develop and implement test automation for aircraft modifications.
- Apply EMI engineering technology experience to document and solve complex problems.
- Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation and other analyses to predict component, interconnects, and system performance.
- Apply conversion, correction, and antenna factors to EMI/EMC analyses and test.
- Participate in cross‑functional support teams and communicate clearly during review boards.
- Process engineering data into meaningful tables and graphs for reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics or physics.
- Familiarity with electromagnetic concepts such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
- At least 5 years of related work experience (Career Level).
- ABET‑accredited Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or a Master’s/PhD in electrical engineering.
- Experience in the defense or aerospace industry.
- Previous experience with MIL‑STD‑461/464 and/or DO‑160 EMI/EMC.
- Prior experience with Aerospace Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3).
- Experience with EMI qualification testing for aircraft LRU’s, including review of procedures and test reports.
- Familiarity with aircraft‑level E3 requirements and test methods within MIL‑STD‑464.
- Knowledge of electrical bonding best practices in support of E3 compliance.
- Foundation in RF systems and/or computational E3 analytical software tools.
Pay Range: $60–$70 per hour. Compensation is based on education, experience, location and specific duties.
