ENGINEER - RESEARCH ENGINEER - Experimental/Computational Thermofluids Engineer
Who We Are:
We solve complex fluids problems to help society gain access to energy and water. We strive to create a work place defined by mutual respect and collaboration, where the sharing of knowledge and the drive for excellence are pervasive. Safety is a top priority and is integrated in every operation.
Objectives of this Role:- Provide engineering support for research projects on thermofluid systems.
- Topic areas include hydrogen applications, oil and gas, water management, alternative energy, and space applications.
- Contribute to experimental research projects in a laboratory setting.
- Provide design solutions for thermofluid systems using analytical and computational approaches.
- Interact and engage with commercial and government clients to develop solutions that fit their requirements, develop their system, and take them through validation testing.
- Perform engineering design and analysis for thermofluid systems in a laboratory setting on pilot-scale experimental setups. This includes the programming of data acquisition systems, selection and installation of various instruments, and commissioning systems.
- Use analytical and computational methods to support the design and optimization of thermofluid systems.
- Post-process test data; write and present reports and technical papers; manage the technical and financial performance of projects.
- Develop new business through networking, customer engagement, conference attendance, and proposal writing.
- Requires a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Fluids Engineering, Thermofluids Engineering, or related Engineering degree. Must have at least one industry internship experience in a relevant field.
- 0-5 years:
Hands-on experience with both computational tools (e.g., CFD, MATLAB, Python) and experimental methods (e.g., lab testing, data acquisition) in an engineering context. - Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex information.
- Desire to make a positive impact on the community through developing research aimed at solving some of our most-pertinent problems.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
