Position: Senior Mechanical Engineer, Amazon Industrial Robotics

Senior Mechanical Engineer, Amazon Industrial Robotics

Amazon Industrial Robotics is seeking exceptional talent to help bridge the gap between design and manufacturing for our next generation of advanced robotics systems. We're building revolutionary manufacturing processes that enable the production of cutting‑edge robotic systems at Amazon's scale.

In this role, you will design new manufacturing processes, create innovative assembly solutions, and develop novel production techniques for complex robotic systems. You'll work hands‑on with our design teams to transform ambitious concepts into manufacturable products, tackling challenging production problems with creative engineering approaches. This is a unique opportunity to pioneer new methods in robotics manufacturing at an unprecedented scale, working with world‑class teams to build the production systems that will bring next‑generation robotics to life.

If you're passionate about creating the manufacturing processes of tomorrow rather than just optimizing those of today, this role offers the chance to make a lasting impact on the future of automation.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering and production teams to transition robotic designs from prototype development into volume production.
  • Provide design for manufacturing feedback to simplify designs for highest production efficiency and scalability.
  • Develop adaptable assembly processes to support product design iteration and variable quality of incoming material.
  • Create flexible manufacturing concepts for high‑volume production while minimizing complexity and cost.
  • Generate process documentation, manufacturing instructions, and equipment specifications.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, controls and software issues in production environments.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes to maximize the number of supported product variants.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth product launches and production ramp‑up.
