Process Engineer, Photo

Overview

Tower Semiconductor is searching for a process engineer within Photo to support sustaining, improvements, and process transfer and development in a high volume manufacturing fab located in San Antonio, TX. A qualified candidate will be self-motivated, have strong technical and analytical skills, and possess a practical, hands‑on approach to engineering problems.

• Take ownership of the processes assigned and establish the direction for improvements, sustaining and overall operation
• Work closely with process and integration engineers to improve process metrics, such as SPC, yield, para metrics, and defects, and to achieve first‑pass success of technology transfers
• Take ownership of selection and qualification of semiconductor processing tools
• Monitor fab metrics with statistical process control (SPC)
• Provide root cause investigation of discrepant material and implement yield and defect improvement projects
• Write operating specifications and provide technical training to wafer fab personnel
• Work with equipment engineering to improve uptime and tool utilization
• Troubleshoot process and tool excursions
• Identify cost savings opportunities and drive projects to reduce overall costs
• Implement advanced process control to improve Cpk at critical levels
• Ensure matching of newly installed equipment to support production ramp
• Develop new semiconductor manufacturing processes using design of experiments (DOE)

• Recent Ph.D. graduate, preferably in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Materials Science
• MS Degree with minimum 5 years of hands‑on semiconductor experience
• Demonstrated above average academic performance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self‑starter, dependable and highly motivated
• Strong problem solving and data analysis skills
• Ability to work and communicate with equipment engineering to improve the area
