Bechtel’s Manufacturing and Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing, building and commissioning a semiconductor fab in Clay, NY. The Process Engineer supports the design and execution of bulk/specialty chemical and gas systems for advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities. Working under the direction of a Lead or Senior Engineer, this role contributes to process design, interdisciplinary coordination, and construction support across project phases. The position is ideal for a mid-level engineer seeking to grow technical depth and semiconductor project experience.

• Support design and implementation of bulk and specialty gas and chemical systems

• Prepare and update process deliverables (PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, specifications)

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams

• Participate in technical reviews, safety and operability studies, and design reviews

• Assist with code compliance, vendor evaluations, and construction-phase support

• Identify design issues and propose solutions for review by senior engineers

• Support estimates, work plans, schedules, and progress reporting

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering (or equivalent)

• 58 years of relevant process engineering experience

• Semiconductor manufacturing or process utility experience preferred

• Working knowledge of semiconductor bulk and specialty gas systems

• Familiarity with industrial and hazardous gases and associated safety requirements

• Understanding of gas system components, layouts, and materials

• Basic familiarity with applicable codes and standards (IBC, IFC, NFPA, SEMI)

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills

• Willingness to learn and grow under technical mentorship
