The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a senior intelligence planner and subject matter expert in the J2 Staff of 16th Air Force, Air Forces Cyber, and Joint Force Headquarters - Cyber with responsibilities that include intelligence planning in support of combatant command plans and operation.
Duties- Conducts and oversees the most complex planning of multi-source intelligence support to operations. Serves as a subject matter expert for intelligence support to operational planning. Evaluates relevance and reliability of classified and unclassified information to understand adversary strengths and weaknesses. Leads the coordination, generation, and review of ISR inputs to war planning efforts to include OPLAN, WARNORDs, PLANORDs, ALERTORDs, DEPORDs, EXORDs, PTDOs, OPORDs and RFFs in relation to 16 AF (AFCYBER) JFHQ-C (AF) subordinate cyber units, to fuse multi-source information from intelligence disciplines (SIGINT, ELINT, OSINT, HUMINT) to satisfy a broad range of operational planning requirements.
- Develops and presents ISR capabilities to a wide variety of service, national and coalition customers. Provides Combatant Commanders the intelligence information derived from ISR assets to maximize their own forces' effectiveness by optimizing friendly force strengths, exploiting adversary weaknesses, and countering adversary strengths. Plans and directs management of the entire effort from identifying the need for information to delivering a fused intelligence product to a consumer.
Seeks new techniques and technologies associated with intelligence processing concepts. - Serves as a senior adviser and primary consultant in the dissemination of multi-source intelligence. Leads a wide variety of complex and non-routine collection and operations projects/programs/teams to support component, combatant command, and support agency planning and operations. Interprets and makes analytic judgments on broad-based and domain/discipline-agnostic intelligence products, applications, capabilities and resources. Oversees, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates the collection, and dissemination of multi-source information to exploit adversary weaknesses and counter adversary strengths.
- Plans, directs and oversees ISR operations. Manages, oversees, and integrates functions to provide ISR intelligence and situational awareness necessary to successfully plan and conduct operations in support of the commanders and other customers within the assigned areas of responsibility. Planning and the directing of the collection and reporting on the most complex intelligence data enables strategic, operational, and tactical users to better understand the operational environment systemically, spatially, and temporally, allowing them to orient themselves to the current and predicted situation to enable decisive action.
- Serves as a senior technical authority on ISR issues. Makes authoritative recommendations and defends decisions on operations policy matters to the Director and Headquarters 16 AF staff and is often required to make difficult decisions committing NAF funds or resources impacting future capabilities. Represents 16 AF in meetings with senior planners from other MAJCOMs, Air Staff, DoD, National Security Agency (NSA), Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), other national agencies, and congressional staff members.
