Job Description
Under general supervision, the Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for assuring the proper credentialing and privileging of physicians, mid-level providers, research associates, professionals, and paraprofessionals. The Coordinator will maintain compliance with licensure and appointment requirements with state and governmental agencies and certifications for each provider, and track and ensure completion of required continuing medical education courses and workshops.
Responsibilities- Guide providers through credentialing and re-credentialing processes and ensure completion of required documentation for UT Health and partner facilities.
- Work with providers to prepare and submit Medicare & Medicaid applications to the enrollment office.
- Prepare all credentialing applications, develop and provide required documentation, and address any additional information or corrections requested.
- Verify and track the credentialing status of physicians, professionals, and paraprofessionals within UT Health and all facilities where the provider has privileges.
- Receive credentialing applications and enter data into the credentialing system.
- Collaborate with providers to maintain compliance for all licensures and appointments with state and governmental agencies and certifications.
- Generate monthly reports of expiring credentials.
- Monitor performance between credentialing cycles, generate performance review documents, share with departments, and notify external entities when a provider has been suspended, if necessary.
- Work with departments to obtain proof of professional liability coverage.
- Provide support and information for monthly credentialing committee meetings and report to the committee on initial and reappointments.
- Notify providers and departments of credentialing status and final results, email notices, and ensure the credentialing system is updated.
- Ensure UT Health website accurately reflects provider credentials once cleared.
- Track and verify completion of required continuing medical education courses and workshops; provide documentation to outside entities as required.
- Respond to provider, applicant, administrator, and hospital inquiries and provide documents to physicians or office staff seeking copies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Strong customer-service orientation with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently under limited supervision with strong multitasking and organizational skills.
- Accuracy, thoroughness, and self-monitoring for quality.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; proficiency in MS Office.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Three (3) years of administrative experience, preferably in a hospital or clinical environment.

Retirement
Eligible employees may choose the Teacher Retirement System or the Optional Retirement Plan, with voluntary retirement programs available.
Time Off
- Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year.
- Extended Illness Bank: 8 hours accrued per month for illness or injury after one day of PTO.
- Paid Family Leave:
Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or parent after six months of consecutive employment. - Holidays: 12 paid holidays each year.
