- Work up, educate, and follow up potential patients.
- Obtain medical and surgical history and complete all diagnostic testing.
- Assist the doctor in the exam lane and during surgical procedures.
- Ensure all forms are complete and pertinent information recorded.
- Maintain outcome data.
- Perform autorefrations, topographical mapping, wavefront analysis, lensometer, pachymeter, and visual acuities.
- Evaluate and measure pupil size and responses, use slit lamp microscope, applanation tonometer, and instill eye drops.
- Understand all equipment and instruments used in the center, including LASIK suite.
- Provide pre/post-operative care and instructions.
- Assist in surgery by preparing the laser room with supplies and sterilized equipment.
- Stock all medication and medical supplies proactively to ensure completion of required tasks.
- Call to request pre/post-ops on surgical patients.
- Order all medical supplies.
- Keep up with all regular and emergency maintenance on medical equipment.
- Assist in other areas as needed.
- 2+ years of experience as an Ophthalmology Technician is ideal.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Desire to provide an exceptional patient experience.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
