Workdays and hours vary to meet program needs. This is a grant-funded position; salary is dependent on funding availability.

Mission: Seton Home works to break the cycle of abuse and poverty by providing a caring home, education, and support services necessary to transform the lives of pregnant and parenting teen mothers and their children.
Summary: All Youth Care Workers may be required to work different shifts to meet program needs. Below is a basic description of the general tasks required to be completed throughout the day. The tasks described are a general outline and other duties may be assigned to meet program needs.
Responsibilities- Supervise and log all domestic and international calls for residents.
- Care for children while residents attend groups and as needed.
- Supervise and monitor interactions between residents to ensure a safe environment.
- Plan, supervise, and participate in recreational and/or physical activities as scheduled.
- Document daily logs and incident reports using the internal database; ensure important information is included.
- Process medications from pharmacy using the internal database; dispense medications on weekends, holidays and as needed.
- Assist with transporting residents to and from medical appointments, outings, etc., as needed.
- Supervise evening chores and room checks.
- Cook and supervise residents with dinner preparation and cleanup during weekends, holidays and as needed.

- Minimum Qualifications
: - Education:
Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. - Experience:
Minimum of 1-year employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents in a social service setting. - License and Credentials:
Reliable transportation;
Valid driver license;
Valid vehicle insurance;
Must provide immunization/shot records;
Background checks (state and federal), Child abuse and neglect registry check, and Tuberculosis screening. - Health:
Able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route if working directly with unaccompanied children (varicella, MMR, DTaP/TDap, influenza as applicable). - Minimum Knowledge and
Skills:
Bilingual in English/Spanish; basic computer skills (Kaleida Care and MS Office); trauma-informed care; strong communication; cultural competency; ability to work independently and in a team; ability to set and teach trauma-informed practices; and commitment to empowering others. - Other:
Must pass a criminal background check.
Physical Requirements
- Travel: 10% local and 10% overnight.
