* DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

** 1. Generates daily schedule and reviews verification notes to ascertain the date of last verification.
2. Verifies patients insurance coverage, demographics and coordinates with Referral Coordinator when a referral is needed.
3. Maintains insurance verification spreadsheet for all verifications that reveal a lapse in coverage and or private pay.
4. Documents standard verification information in the collection notes and notifies the admissions manager and/or branch coordinator of any irregularities and/or special benefits.  
5. Provides clerical support to the billing office to include, filing, pulling, and coping EOBs for collections staff.

* Qualifications:

** High school degree or equivalent with a minimum of two years experience in insurance verification, referrals, co-payment collection, billing and customer service. 1 2 years experience in medical billing software and ability to balance and close cash drawer is also required.
