POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Clinical Dietitian II works closely with the interdisciplinary health care team to provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy that are integrated and compatible with the patient’s medical program goals and objectives. Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy using established standards of care and practice protocols/guidelines; managing resources in a cost-effective manner; participating in performance improvement efforts;
and maintaining professional competency and skills required for professional practice. Maintains accepted standards of dietetics and nutrition as recommended by the American Dietetic Association, University Health System and department policies. Maintains good guests, patient and professional working relations.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field is required. A graduate degree in Nutrition or related field is preferred. Three years of related experience as a clinical dietitian is required. Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) are preferred.
LICENSURE
Must be a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association. Must possess a current license from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians.
