Substance Use Counselor

Position Overview

We are looking for a compassionate Licensed Substance Use Counselor to assist patients through medically assisted treatments and offer opioid addiction management techniques at Med Mark Treatment Centers.

• Assist patients through medically assisted treatments and offer techniques for handling opioid addiction.
• Conduct individual and group sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies.
• Evaluate patients’ progress during counseling and collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other counselors to help patients achieve overall outcomes.
• Provide individual and group counseling services; deliver direct service hours at regularly scheduled intervals; coordinate all services throughout treatment.
• Facilitate, establish and review with each patient the initial treatment plan.
• Complete a Bio‑psychosocial assessment.
• Develop aftercare plans and discharge plans.
• Ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients in a trauma‑informed manner.
• Perform other related duties as determined by supervisor.

• Must possess a Texas CDCA, LCDC II, LCDC III, or LICDC license.
• Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals is preferred.
• Must demonstrate a positive, non‑judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population.
• Understanding of an EMR system (electronic medical records).
• Must pass a satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
