Job Summary and Qualifications

Seeking a Radiology Technologist who will maintain the technical skills needed to perform radiography procedures and evaluate radiographs for technical quality. Must be competent in performing radiographic procedures. All aspects of conducting examinations will be in accordance with prescribed protocols established by staff radiologists.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic procedures as required; achieve a high level of film quality.
  • Remain observant for film artifacts and keep them to a minimum; clean cassettes as necessary.
  • Document upon completion of procedures; document all stat reads according to departmental policies.
  • Obtain patient history as needed; assist radiologist during procedures, helping to put the patient at ease.
  • Advises supervisor of any items needed from the storeroom or vendors.
  • Demonstrate ability to shut down radiologic equipment and/or reboot computers.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    High School Graduate (or GED) required. Graduate from an AMA‑approved radiologic technology program.
  • Experience:

    Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit, specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).
  • Licenses, Certifications or Registrations

    Required:

    ARRT® or registry eligible; certified by the Texas Department of State Health Services MRT program; current BLS certification.
