Position SummaryUnder the direction/supervision of an RN, provides basic nursing care for assigned group of patients. The following units are covered:
- General Nursing Units: patients aged 15 years to maturity, cared for by clinically competent nursing staff.
- Special Care Areas: patients aged 15 years through adults with high‑risk conditions, care by clinically competent nursing staff.
- Maternal Child Units – Labor and Delivery: care for patients with pregnancy‑related conditions by staff competent in maternity care.
- Nursery: care for newborns until discharge by clinically competent staff.
- Pediatric: care provided to patients from neonate through age eighteen.
- GI Lab Unit: care from 24 months to adult by clinically competent staff.
- Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit: care for adult patients and families with a holistic approach to emotional problems.
- Emergency Unit: care to presenting patients of all ages by clinically competent staff in pediatric and high‑risk adult care.
- Surgical Services: care from neonate to geriatric, completing established competencies within a designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
High School Graduate or equivalent.
Preferred EducationSatisfactorily completed a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting course.
Preferred ExperienceAt least 6 months in the healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures.
Required Courses / Completions (e.g., CPR)- BLS – Obtained through an approved American Heart Association training center or the Military Training Network.
- Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention – Obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position.
