Job Description & How to Apply Below

Strive Pharmacy is a personalized compounding pharmacy built on a simple conviction: medicine should fit the patient, not the other way around. We started Strive because we believed the pharmaceutical industry was overdue for a more human approach—one that prioritizes individualized care, clinical nuance, and genuine partnership with patients and providers.

Compounding gives us the tools to do that. Every formulation we prepare is built to the specific needs of a specific person, and every interaction we have is guided by that same commitment to personalized care.

We're growing, and we're looking for people who share that conviction. If you're ready to be part of a pharmacy that takes the work seriously and the people even more seriously, we'd like to meet you.

Mission:

Strive exists to disrupt an industry long overdue for a more personal approach to care. We put the human element at the center of everything: every formulation, every patient interaction, every provider partnership. We're not just a compounding pharmacy. We're a team on a mission to change what personalized healthcare looks and feels like.

Position Overview:

Ready to step into a pivotal role where your skills bring life-changing medications to individuals who depend on them? As a Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician at Strive Pharmacy, you'll be at the core of preparing and compounding custom prescriptions, both hazardous and non-hazardous, upholding the highest standards of quality control and compliance with our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compounding: Follow proprietary formulations to compound sterile injectables, ophthalmics, oral liquids, topical agents, and tablets.
  • Quality Control: Perform continuous QA on compounds, prepare samples for testing, and initiate investigations for any deviations from standard procedure.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Pharmacist in Charge, facility Pharmacists, and internal Quality Assurance personnel to ensure product integrity.
  • Documentation: Maintain calibration logs for scales and electronic meters; document all quality procedures in appropriate logs.
  • Lab Maintenance: Ensure the compounding lab is cleaned/maintained per procedures and dispose of chemicals in proper containers.
  • Inventory: Monitor inventory levels, report low stock to supervisors, and routinely check for outdated or expiring chemicals.
  • Compliance: Participate in regular audits/inspections and complete required continuous education (CE) responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
  • At least one year of sterile compounding experience
  • Completed 40-hour ACPE-accredited sterile compounding course
  • High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active National Certification (PTCB/ExCPT) Certification
  • Previous 503(A) experience
Required Skills

  • Pharmacy Math: Strong grasp of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Operational Excellence: Ability to work efficiently in a timely manner with extreme attention to detail.
  • Quality Standards: Proven ability to consistently meet standards for accuracy and potency.
  • Equipment Mastery: Capability of working with small, delicate, and expensive laboratory equipment.

This position is primarily based in an onsite work environment. The role requires regular periods of sitting, standing, and computer use, with occasional lifting as needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

Additionally, this position requires:

  • Physical Dexterity: Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for manipulating syringes and delicate devices.
