- interviewing, assessment, negotiation, influencing skills
- 35-40% travel
- May administer a recruiting program or large-scale project
- Recruits internal / external candidates (to Director level)
- Sources candidates through multiple sources (e.g., cold calls, direct recruiting referrals, networking)
- Reviews resumes; assesses candidates for knowledge, skills, and abilities
- Conducts first-level interviews; makes recommendations to hiring managers; reviews / discusses candidate performance with subsequent interviewers
- Assists candidates with new hire activities
- Organizes / executes H-E-B participation in job fairs and college recruiting activities
- Conducts pre-employment activities such as drug testing, background / reference checks
- Develops compensation package, relocation, and offer letter for candidates
- Uses e-recruiting system (e.g., My Career 2.0) to input / extract data as needed
- Develops / delivers company-wide communication materials related to recruiting programs and processes
- Trains organization on interviewing / selection methods
- Assists in designing / recommending changes to current recruiting programs, processes, policies
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field, or comparable experience
- 2+ years of recruiting experience
- Proficiency in MS Office and database systems
- Intermediate interviewing, assessment, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Intermediate analytical, project management, time-management, and organization skills
- Verbal / written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects / tasks; attention to detail
- Ability to work issues at all levels of H-E-B
- Function in a fast-paced retail, office environment
- Travel by car / plane with overnight stays
- Sit for extended periods
- Work extended hours
