Title:

Data Scientist

Location:

San Antonio, TX

Responsibilities
  • Assess existing data landscape and recommend improvements in data collection, storage, and processing methodologies.
  • Develop and implement data preprocessing and cleaning techniques to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Design, develop, and apply advanced statistical and machine learning models to derive insights and support data-driven decision‑making.
  • Visualize and communicate complex data analyses, trends, and patterns to department stakeholders through interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify and prioritize data analysis projects based on department objectives and available resources.
  • Ensure compliance with federal government data privacy and security requirements, including FISMA and GDPR, when working with sensitive datasets.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of data models, recommending and implementing enhancements as needed.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in data science and apply these learnings to improve processes and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field and a minimum of 7 years' experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, with a focus on federal government environments.
  • Certified Data Scientist (CDS) or Professional Data Engineer (PDE).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java, and experience with data manipulation and analysis libraries (e.g., pandas, Num Py, or Tensor Flow).
  • Expertise in statistical and machine learning techniques, including regression, clustering, and classification algorithms.
  • Strong data visualization skills, including experience with tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience working with cloud‑based data processing and analysis tools.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
