Technical Business Analyst

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst with strong analytical and communication skills to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. This role is responsible for gathering, analyzing, validating, and documenting user requirements, and for aligning business processes and technical solutions across stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be adept at data analysis, business process modeling, and will play a key role in defining systems and solutions in collaboration with data and enterprise architects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with project sponsors to define scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Identify project stakeholders and user roles.
• Elicit and document user requirements via interviews, workshops, surveys, and site visits.
• Analyze and diagram current and future business processes and workflows.
• Define project impact, risks, metrics, and success criteria.
• Assist in developing business cases for technology investments.
• Prioritize and manage evolving requirements collaboratively with stakeholders.

• Translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
• Create process models, flowcharts, and wireframes to guide development teams.
• Develop and maintain requirement specifications using standardized templates.
• Perform gap analysis and data audits using SQL queries.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT), QA validation, and change management efforts.
• Maintain traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams to ensure alignment.
• Contribute to solution design discussions and data architecture alignment.

• Support or lead Agile ceremonies (backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives).
• Maintain product backlog, user stories, and documentation in Agile tools.
• Help develop realistic resource and budget plans in coordination with area managers.
• Monitor project timelines and help remove roadblocks.
• Support cross-functional collaboration and ensure project deliverables meet business goals.
• Analyze data using SQL and support downstream system data needs.
• Work with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, SAP BOBJ) to validate and consume data.
• Contribute to technology evaluations and vendor assessments when required.
• Champion data governance and quality initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst in an IT environment.
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying and analysis.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and SDLC frameworks.
• Strong skills in business process modeling, functional specification, and stakeholder facilitation.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.

• Knowledge of Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN).
• Familiarity with ETL development, Tableau, SAP BOBJ, Oracle, and SAP ERP.
• Experience working in utilities or other regulated industries.
• Experience in data governance initiatives.
• Certifications (any of the following are a plus):
• Agile (CSM, PMI-ACP, SAFe)
• Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2)
