Data Model Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Model Engineer to ensure data quality, model optimization, and effective data governance.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with U IGC, RRAIT, IAI, IA, UDC/Alation, and Big Eye to support data profiling, lineage, and tagging.

This role involves working closely with business analysts and technical architects to develop and maintain logical and physical data models while ensuring consistency and compliance with enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure Data Quality using Big Eye’s data observability features to monitor and resolve data issues.
• Analyze Data Relationships by leveraging Alation’s data catalog.
• Manage Data Lineage to assess the impact of changes on data assets.
• Conduct Data Profiling to evaluate the usability and integrity of data.
• Apply Trust Flags & Data Tags to track critical and sensitive data elements.
• Develop & Maintain Data Models (conceptual, logical, and physical) using best practices.
• Optimize & Update Models to support new and existing projects.
• Collaborate with Stakeholders to translate business and technical requirements into efficient data models.
• Ensure Compliance with enterprise data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
• Validate Models by performing variance analysis and database assessments.
• Remediate data quality issues and resolve KRI breaches.
• Assign data quality rules in alignment with enterprise standards.
• Identify and tag critical and sensitive data elements.
• Conduct testing and address enterprise data inquiries.
• Maintain JIRA logs, attend meetings and stand-ups, and communicate via Slack, Zoom, and email.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in data modeling, data governance, and data quality.
• Hands-on expertise with Alation, Big Eye, and Information Analyzer.
• Strong knowledge of ETL tools such as Informatica, Data Stage, and Ab Initio.
• Ability to work on multiple mid to large-sized projects with cross-functional teams.
