The Building Engineering Services Business Group (BES BG) Technology Director will lead our technology strategy and implementation across the multidisciplinary BES consulting practice. You will oversee a team of technology experts, collaborate with leadership, vendors, and stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and execute technology initiatives. Your focus will be on leveraging technology to optimize project execution, enhance efficiency, and foster innovation, including digital delivery, data strategy, automation, and emerging technologies.
This role reports to the Professional Services Director and involves developing technology-centric solutions, creating a community of practice, shaping strategic plans, and positioning HDR as a marketplace leader.
Primary Responsibilities- Lead a team to develop and monitor a technology vision and roadmap for BES.
- Implement market-centric, innovative strategies with pragmatic risk management.
- Develop communication strategies to engage the BES technology community and stakeholders.
- Standardize workflows and practices to increase efficiency and quality.
- Promote thought leadership through awards, publications, and speaking engagements.
- Recruit, develop, and retain technology talent, envisioning the future workforce.
- Partner with stakeholders to support technology needs, including hardware and software.
- Foster collaboration and skills development within the practice.
Preferred: Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering, or related field; 8+ years experience, including 5+ in consulting A/E; demonstrated ability to formulate and execute technology strategies; experience in data architecture, management, and numerical modeling; excellent communication skills.
Required: Bachelor’s in a related field; 10+ years experience; professional registration; leadership in diverse teams; commitment to quality and HDR values.

Primary location:
Omaha, NE, with multiple other U.S. locations and Toronto, Canada.
This position is full-time, regular, and within the Digital Business Class.
