Cyber Defense Infrastructure Network Engineer

Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of computer networking concepts, protocols, and network security methodologies.
• Knowledge of risk management processes, including assessing and mitigating risks.
• Understanding of applicable international laws, regulations, policies, and ethics related to cybersecurity.
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, cyber threats, and vulnerabilities.
• Awareness of operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses.
• Familiarity with host and network access control mechanisms, such as access control lists.
• Understanding organizational requirements for confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation.
• Knowledge of VPN security and network security architecture, including topology, protocols, and defense-in-depth principles.
• Experience with IDS/IPS tools and applications.
• Proficiency in network protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and directory services.
• Experience with network traffic analysis and understanding traffic flow across networks.
• Minimum of 4+ years in Cloud network engineering.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Certifications:
  
  Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, AWS CP, AWS Dev Ops Engineer, CND, CASP, CCNP, CEH, CySA+, CND, CHFI, Cloud+; CISSP preferred.
• Security Clearance:
  Top Secret/SCI with potential for higher read-ins.

Role Responsibilities:

• Test and evaluate applications, hardware, rules, access controls, and configurations managed by service providers.
• Identify conflicts with cyber defense tools and optimize signatures and rules.
• Implement RMF/SA&A requirements and maintain documentation.
• Identify and prioritize protection of critical cyber infrastructure.
• Build, install, configure, and test cyber defense hardware.
• Assess impacts of cyber defense infrastructure deployment and sustainability.
