Security Engineer

Novacoast Staffing is excited to announce an opportunity for a dynamic Prisma Cloud Platform Security Engineer. In this contract position (W2 only) you will be the cornerstone of our client’s security and compliance initiatives in the Public Cloud, working onsite 2–3 days per week in a hybrid environment.

• Act as the primary technical authority in securing and ensuring compliance across Public Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, and others).
• Consult on, design, and deliver technology solutions—from problem identification to deployment—while maintaining effective client interactions.
• Strategize and oversee the migration of critical data and applications to the Public Cloud, ensuring seamless transitions.
• Serve as a technical advocate, driving issue resolution to achieve client satisfaction.
• Develop and maintain code/scripts, preferably in Python, to support client development objectives.
• Engage deeply within Docker and Kubernetes environments, assisting clients in optimizing containerization and orchestration processes.
• Configure, implement, and manage the maintenance of Security Operating Platforms, tailoring solutions to align with client security requirements.

• Solid experience in IT/operations engineering, consulting, or similar roles with a robust background in Information or Cyber Security.
• Hands‑on experience with Palo Alto Prisma Cloud and a strong foundation in cloud security.
• Proficiency in Python scripting.
• Minimum 3 years spearheading security solutions in large‑scale environments.
• Comprehensive grasp of vulnerability management and compliance standards.
• Experience with API‑based security and compliance standards.
• Knowledge in cloud networking, network security, virtualization, and cloud computing basics.
• Experience with automation and orchestration tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, Git Hub, etc.).
• Strong consulting skills and confidence presenting solutions to leadership and customers.

• 2+ years of hands‑on work with Palo Alto Prisma Cloud.
• Highly proficient Python scripting.
• 3+ years experience configuring and managing APIs.
• 3+ years cloud security expertise.
• 3+ years experience with Kubernetes.
• Significant experience with other Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools.
• Knowledge of code security practices.
• Demonstrated consulting expertise with strong interpersonal skills.

Pay: $65.00 – $75.00 per hour (Contract, W2)
