Position: DB2 Database Administrator (DBA) SME
Overview
GovCIO is currently looking for a DB2 Database Administrator SME for our Courts proposal. This position will be located in San Antonio, TX.
Responsibilities
Performs data movement, troubleshoots issues, and writes scripts to perform common database tasks.Maintains complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods.Performs installs, configuration, migrations, restores, and monitors the security and performance of the systems are not compromised.Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 support.Prepares and delivers presentations on DBMS concepts.Qualifications
Bachelor's with 5-8 years (or commensurate experience)Considerable knowledge of the job. Complete understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job, and its application.Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.Contributes to the completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources.Strong DB2 database analytical and decision making skillsDemonstrated DB2 database configuration and administration experienceDemonstrated DB2 database performance tuning experienceDemonstrated DB2 database backup and data recovery experienceDemonstrated knowledge of Red Hat Linux system administration skillsLinux DB2 Version 9+ experienceExperience in setting up High Availability environments with DB2 9+Ability to independently research problems and provide solutionsAble to mentor peers and client staffAble to provide occasional weekend/off-hours supportBasic scripting experienceDemonstrated Informix SQL database configuration, administration, performance tuning, backup and data recovery experienceDemonstrated Informix SQL report writing experienceDemonstrated Microsoft SQL database configuration, administration, performance tuning, backup and data recovery experienceDemonstrated Microsoft SQL report writing experienceClearance Required:
