SAP BW Technical Consultant

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP BW Lead to manage and deliver Business Intelligence (BI) and Data Warehousing solutions using SAP Business Warehouse (BW 7.x) and SAP Business Objects. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP BW architecture, data modeling, and ETL processes, along with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills. The role involves driving end-to-end BI initiatives from requirement gathering to delivery while mentoring a team of developers.

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of SAP BW solutions across multiple business domains.
• Architect scalable data warehouse models and ensure alignment with business and reporting needs.
• Integrate data from SAP ECC modules (FI/CO, SD, MM, HR, PP) and non‑SAP systems using BEx Extractors or custom data sources.
• Design and manage Info Cubes, DSOs (Data Store Objects), Multi Providers, and Composite Providers.
• Develop and maintain BEx Queries, ensuring optimized performance and usability for business users.

• Manage ETL data flows, transformations, and data extraction processes using standard and custom extractors.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of data models, Info Objects, and Data Sources.
• Work with reporting tools such as SAP BEx Analyzer, Business Objects Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, or Lumira.
• Coordinate with functional and business teams to align reporting deliverables with KPIs and analytics goals.

• Lead a team of SAP BW developers and analysts to deliver high-quality BI solutions.
• Conduct code reviews, performance tuning, and peer mentoring.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to prioritize and plan project activities effectively.

• Manage transport requests, BW housekeeping, and system performance optimization.
• Implement process chains and monitor data loads for accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure data quality, security, and authorization compliance across the BW landscape.

• Act as a technical lead for BW‑related projects from design through go‑live and post‑support.
• Engage with business stakeholders to translate analytical requirements into technical solutions.
• Support agile and iterative delivery models, maintaining high transparency on project progress.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 8-12 years of hands‑on experience in SAP BW (version 7.x).

• Data modeling, Info Cubes, DSOs, Multi Providers, and BEx Queries.
• ETL processes, data extraction from SAP ECC (FI/CO, MM, SD, HR, etc.) and non‑SAP systems.
• ABAP programming for enhancements, routines, and transformations within BW.
• Performance optimization, data load monitoring, and transport management.
• Experience with SAP Business Objects (BO) tools such as WebI, Crystal Reports, and Analysis for Office.
• Strong understanding of data governance, security roles, and authorizations in BW.
