We specialize in navigating complex security frameworks like CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, and DFARS requirements to help clients achieve and maintain compliance while enhancing their overall security posture.
Position Overview:JBW Federal is seeking a CMMC Registered Practitioner (RP) to support our clients in preparing for Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) assessments. This role focuses on advisory services, compliance readiness, and security documentation tailored for organizations pursuing CMMC Level 2 certification.
As a key member of our compliance services team, you will also help identify opportunities to expand our managed IT and MSSP partnerships by engaging in CMMC‑related discussions with prospective clients and technology providers.
Key Responsibilities:- Guide clients through CMMC Level 2 readiness and compliance initiatives.
- Perform gap assessments against the CMMC framework and NIST SP 800-171 controls.
- Support development and documentation of System Security Plans (SSPs), POA &Ms, and other audit‑ready materials.
- Advise on remediation strategies and assist clients in implementing security and compliance controls.
- Conduct mock assessments and provide guidance for eventual C3
PAO evaluations. - Participate in client discussions and proposal efforts related to managed services and CMMC compliance.
- Monitor and interpret updates to CMMC, DFARS, and NIST guidelines to keep clients informed and compliant.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery of IT and security solutions that align with compliance objectives.
- Active CMMC Registered Practitioner (RP) certification.
- 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT governance, or compliance‑related roles.
- Familiarity with CMMC, NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, and FedRAMP is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in compliance documentation.
- Experience working with federal contractors or DIB suppliers is a strong advantage.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- U.S. Citizenship required due to federal compliance work.
