AboutThe Role
Peraton is seeking a Desktop Support Agent. This position will perform the following:
- Provide Tier I and II technical software, hardware, and network problem resolution for clients, diagnosing issues and guiding users through step‑by‑step solutions or escalating to senior technical support as needed.
- Use automated information systems to analyze routine situations.
- Review incoming requests, both computer-generated and verbal, sort, code, and prioritize for proper action.
- Resolve problems or refer to more senior technical support.
- Support users by fulfilling individual requests for information and training on the use of available databases.
- Conduct technical research for sources of information to support program and proposal efforts.
- Maintain network diagrams and circuit records.
- Instruct users in the use of PCs and networks; may perform basic PC, PBX, and network software programming.
- Collaborate with team members in network services, software engineering, and applications development to restore services and correct core problems.
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus some advanced training. Minimum 4–5 years of experience.
- U.S. citizen.
- Ability to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance (ADP II Public Trust).
- Experience with IM/IT support (or related).
- Security+ certification.
- Proven project‑management skills in setting priorities to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Service Desk support environments.
- Strong customer service and communications skills.
- Strong critical‑thinking skills that facilitate service‑delivery innovation.

- Experience mentoring personnel.
- Ability to establish solid working relationships with customers, staff, managers, and peers.
- Technical competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Visio, and Project.
- Service Now relevant experience.
- HDI certification preferred.
Target Salary Range $51,000 – $82,000. Salary is determined by position responsibilities, experience, education, skills, geographic location, and business considerations. Eligible employees may be entitled to overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus.
