- Act as a Designer‑Developer SME:
Serve as the primary subject matter expert for high‑visibility projects, switching seamlessly between UI/UX design and front‑end programming. - User‑Centric Prototyping:
Conceptualize and create wireframes, mock‑ups, and interactive prototypes to validate product strategies using a data‑driven approach. - Innovation:
Stay current on UI/UX trends and frameworks, researching and suggesting new tools or methods to advance digital initiatives.
- Full‑Cycle Development:
Research, build, and test the integration of UX designs into JavaScript/Java codebases, ensuring technical feasibility. - Modern Frameworks:
Provide hands‑on development using front‑end libraries (e.g., Vue.js, React, Angular, jQuery) and maintain clean, well‑structured code. - Cross‑Platform Consistency:
Ensure high‑quality, responsive web/mobile experiences with a focus on cross‑browser compatibility and seamless performance.
- Compliance Leadership:
Author clean, semantic HTML markup that strictly adheres to WCAG, ADA, and Section 508 standards. - Audit & Mitigation:
Utilize tools like Site Improve to identify defects and implement accessibility best practices within the front‑end stack. - Pattern Libraries:
Develop and maintain reusable, responsive code libraries and interactive patterns that meet W3C standards for HTML, CSS, and JS.
- Cross‑Functional Partnership:
Collaborate with Business Analysts, Architects, and Full‑Stack teams throughout the SDLC to define component requirements. - Design System Ownership:
Provide ongoing support for the customer‑facing design system, including the creation of new components and page templates. - Quality Assurance:
Participate in usability reviews and interface testing to ensure all solutions meet end‑user needs and business goals.
- Minimum education:
High School Diploma or GED. - Core experience:
Extensive background in front‑end web application development with strong hands‑on programming. - Methodology:
Proven history of working within Agile/Scrum environments and cross‑functional teams.
- Modern Stacks:
Proficiency in at least one major language/framework:
Java, JavaScript, React, Vue, or Angular (specifically within LAMP, MEAN, or MERN stacks). - HCD Expertise:
Skilled in end‑to‑end Human‑Centered Design (HCD) techniques, including research, design, and usability testing. - Strategic Design:
Experience creating conceptual and detailed design solutions based on complex end‑user needs. - Soft Skills:
Strong ability to communicate with both business stakeholders and technology users to build holistic, high‑visibility solutions.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in UI/UX Design or Web Development.
- Compliance:
Demonstrated focus on WCAG 2.1 AA compliance and ADA Title II requirements. - Tooling:
